I decided to start trying her method with Z-One in his room, but before I got that far, I began thinking: "I wonder if I can apply her ideas to ANY room??" So I put together some outlines, printed them out, tested them, and adjusted them according to my own preferences.
You guys.
This has been a LIFE-CHANGER for me.
I used to think that messiness, clutter, and chaos was just part of the human experience. Add in a few littles, and I REALLY thought that I would forever be playing catch-up with chores.
Our living room at any given second. |
But *LITERALLY* FIVE MINUTES and FIVE SECONDS later...?? VOILA. |
I shared these methods with some friends, who have all experienced success with them!
I think the reason these ideas work so well is because it takes a complicated process (create order from nebulous chaos) and breaks it down into an easy "Yes or No" choice that, if explained, can be grasped by even preschool children.
We become binary creatures. Yes or No. Zero or One.
Dirty or CLEAN???????
Zoom in on your screen. Take a look at everything. Let the mess soak in. |
TEN minutes and 57 seconds later. (Yeah....it was pretty messy so that extra 57 seconds was needed.) |
I LOVE all the extra time I have to spend on things I actually LIKE. And, HUGE bonus, for the first time in my life, my house is, more often than not, not majorly embarassing when people drop by.
Last tip: This method works BEST on decluttered rooms. Get rid of that extra stuff you don't need or want and put these ideas to the test. You won't be disappointed. BONUS: if done every day, it won't even take the full ten minutes to complete a room!
So. Based off that original bedroom-cleaning post by How Does She, I present to you: How to Clean ANY Room in Ten Minutes or Less. Click the link below each image for a free printable!
